Is it Too Soon to Work Out Again? Anytime Fitness San Angelo

When trying a new workout or pushing your limits during a workout, you can experience delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Don't worry, though, this is quite normal for this type of situation. It's actually a sign that you are getting fitter or stronger. This can be quite discouraging to people who are trying to get fit after a long time away from any type of exercise. So if you are relatively new to the fitness scene, you may want to try to gradually ease on into the new workout regimen.

Typically and quite often, people mistake DOMS for a buildup of lactic acid in the muscles, but lactic acid doesn't have anything to do with DOMS. The soreness is believed to be caused by microscopic tears and damages in your muscle structure. Your body needs to heal and so the soreness is possibly a way to let you know that it needs rest and healthy nutrition to repair itself. Amino Acids are essential in the repair of damaged muscles and one of the best ways to get them is from protein.

Now putting aside the great debate about the benefits of natural protein versus isolated protein, your muscles do need to repair. If you are sore, it is my opinion that you should give your muscles all the time they need to heal. This is how you get stronger, faster, and build muscles. If you go in to work out your chest and it is still sore, you may want to focus another muscle group to allow a complete heal. Muscle tears up, rebuilds, and then makes you stronger so don't cut their repair time short.
