Personal Trainer with Membership - Anytime Fitness Abilene TX

Personal Trainer with Membership - Anytime Fitness Abilene TX If you are in need of a personal trainer, then boy do you need to get into an Anytime Fitness gym. The benefits of a personal trainer are great. They can keep you motivated and help keep you accountable for yourself when you aren't at the gym. They can also give you pointers and tips to help you get the best out of the machine you are using or the particular workout you are trying. They may even be able to help you plan out meals and help you move on to new workouts when you hit your goals.    I have always been a loner when it came to working out and about the most I would interact with another person in the gym was to ask for a spot when doing my heavy lifting. In the long run, I finally got a chance to experience how helpful they can be. I had plateaued in my weight loss and muscle building. For a couple weeks I chalked it up to converting fat to muscle and then I couldn't feel the change in the fit of my ...

How Important is Healthy Eating to You? Anytime Fitness - Gyms Near Me

How Important is Healthy Eating to You? Anytime Fitness - Gyms Near Me If there ever was a lesson learned by me, it was during a two-year stint where I thought I could eat anything I wanted while I was exercising. I was getting up at 5 in the morning and walking 3-four miles every other day. Then on the days in between, I was lifting weights. I then got to the point that I wasn't losing weight anymore and so I decided to up the ante and instead of walking, I started doing some CrossFit exercises with a buddy of mine. I noticed some slight and slow improvement and then I seemed to plateau again. I couldn't understand what was going on. I was eating like I always did. I had been eating that way ever since I was a teenager with a great metabolism and I was playing sports all year round... Seeking Advice I finally broke down and asked for directions, so to speak. You know how hard it is for men to do. It's like my dad used to say to me: "When all else fails, rea...

Weight Training and Cardio in Harmony

Image
Weight Training and Cardio in Harmony The great debate: Cardio vs. Weight Traning. It's an almost age old debate that I have heard argued my whole life. While the advent of the CrossFit boom has brought about a whole new group of people into the idea that weights can be used in conjunction with cardio to create the ultimate workout, I am talking more about doing your lifting and cardio separately. At what I would consider the peak of my health, I was lifting every other day and doing cardio on the in between days. I saw the fat melt right off my body and, while this may not work for everyone, I would recommend it because of the results I saw for myself. I would isolate specific muscle groups one day of the week. For instance, chest and biceps on Monday, back and triceps on Wednesday, shoulders on Friday, and legs on Sunday. On my cardio days, I would do burpees, bear crawl, tire flips, ropes and other plyometric exercises combined with jogging. I have always been a bigger ...

Negativity and it's affect on Workouts

Image
Gyms in Abilene, TX - Anytime Fitness Negativity can have an impact on lots of things that we don't really want it to have an affect on. You can be having a great day and then next thing you know, the office curmudgeon comes in and your mood is taking a downward spiral. Most of the time, you can avoid people who tend to lower your positivity, but its just not possible one hundred percent of the time.  Does Negativity Affect Performance? I am not a psychologist or any other type of person who studies human behavior, but I have experienced a few things while working out that tend to make me think a person's state of mind does have at least some bearing on the body's ability to function at its full potential. Counting Reps I've pretty much given up on counting reps while I lift. You may think this is a bunch of hogwash but I just don't care to count them anymore when I lift. To me, and this is only my opinion, counting reps sends a signal to your muscle...

Anytime Fitness Abilene Area - The Dreaded Leg Day

Image
Leg Day - Coming to a Gym Near Me Lower body workouts tend to get set to the wayside by many people. Now it's understandable when a person has received an injury or has another kind of hardship that physically prevents them from being able to work out their lower body. I'm not talking about that kind of thing. I'm talking about people who are perfectly capable of doing leg day but skipping it anyway. These are merely my opinion, so let us not waste any more time. Walking I would venture to bet the main reason why people don't like doing leg day is that they feel so sore the next day that walking becomes a chore. You get situated at work and then when break time comes, the pain starts all over again. Or maybe you come across a set of stairs you have to walk up and down on a regular basis. Basically sore legs can make otherwise forgettable experiences like walking turn into very memorable ones. Proper Lifting Perhaps you have had a bad experience with a...

Things I look for in a personal trainer - Gym in Abilene, TX Anytime Fitness

Are You Getting What YOU Need from Your Personal Trainer? Have you been using a personal trainer? Do you feel like you are getting what you need from the sessions that you have been having? Here are a few things to consider if you are looking to evaluate the overall effectiveness of your personal trainer. Does Your Trainer Watch You? During a one on one session, do you feel like you have the attention of your personal trainer? Personal training is just that: personal. If your trainer is busy watching other people or is talking or otherwise distracted, you ay want to rethink who you have trained you. Now, things are going to happen that will catch a person's attention from time to time, but if you are constantly having to wait for your trainer to turn attention back to you, it might be a sign that you could do better. Does Your Trainer Set Goals with You in Mind? The goal of a workout is to better yourself, but not everyone has the same needs when it comes to a wo...
